Willingness to Learn as an Entrepreneur Part 3 on Mindset Monday
On today’s show, I look at the willingness to learn as an entrepreneur in terms of strategy. As an entrepreneur, you have to be willing to take an inventory of the skills needed vs. what skills you have and be bold enough to learn things you never wanted to only because they are essential for your business, for example bookkeeping skills. As Pablo Picasso said, “I’m always doing thing I can’t do. That’s how I get to do them!.” Be bold and challenge yourself to learn skills outside of your comfort zone. To get the free workbook “Learning to Business Success,” you can go to http://jgtips.com/learn. “Develop a Success Mindset” using ebook at http://jgtips.com/smindset.
Be bold and challenge yourself to learn skills outside of your comfort zone
I am always doing things I can’t do
That’s how I get to do them.
Pablo Picasso
Success is all about effective learning
Take an inventory of your skills
Evaluate the skills needed to run your business
Where do you need to focus your learning?
Your weakest skill is where you need to start
Is is finances? Is it organizational? Is it?
What skills do you need?
Ask people in your industry
Find a mentor
Learning is all about removing obstacles
Remove obstacles by acquiring new skills
What’s holding you back from getting the new skill?
Finances?
Fear of Failure?
Tool or Resource you need?
Beliefs or ideas holding you back?
Tell yourself you’re not good at handling money
You’ll ensure you never learn how to do it
Believe that you can change.
Identify those negative beliefs and change themj
Always keep track of your progress
Celebrate each step by putting in daily journal
The thing you learned to do even if minor and
add a skill you need to do
so you know what to learn next
Another reason for daily journal is to monitor when skills need to be brushed up as you may lose the skill
Keep an eye out for skills that may be weakening and
try that skill out again to keep in practice.
It is all about learning with a plan and focus.
